slideshows! 01.01.2008 |

I'm sorry I haven't had much to blog about lately; life has been running wild and crazy for me. September is always a crazy month for getting back into school. Especially when its Grade 12 for me, and definitely the beginning of the end! Very exciting; and lots of things to do. Now that I seem to have my courses figured out and under control, hopefully I can start scheduling some more shoots for the fall.

I was sending out client orders and finishing an album design today, when I felt the urge to create a new slideshow, using ShowitWeb. With my new blog, I can "embed" slideshows, right into the post at a bigger resolution, so that's what I did. The slideshow is of the Heron Family-, my first clients, just over three months ago! I loved their session, it was so much fun, and because I didn't have the slideshow software yet, they never got to see a slideshow.

So here you are! And if you're wondering what the amazing music is, it's Phil Wickham. Definitely check him out. I just heard of him through Kristy @ Wreckless Photography a little while ago and he has an incredible talent. My family is going to see him open for the David Crowder Band in seattle on October 20th! Should be a great show.

oh, how i love autumn! 01.01.2008 | personal

"No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
as I have seen in one autumnal face" - John Donne

I just ADORE autumn!! It's my favourite season of the year, by far, which isn't hard to imagine, seen as some of my favourite things are: coffee, ugg boots, books, rain, sweaters and tea. Not exactly items I associate with sunshine-y weather. The air is just so crisp and fresh right now, it's just absolutely wonderful. I love Autumn in BC: just the perfect amount of rain and fresh air.

The past week I've been immensely enjoying the blog of The Image is Found, a husband and wife team of photographers from South California. They are on a trip right now from Edmonton to Vancouver, and have been posting some amazing pictures of our province through the Rocky Mountains. Definitely worth a look!

Y'know the 30 mile race I was talking about? It's officially over. Wow, that went quick! There are some serious runners in this group, lemme tell ya. Some of them went from running 0 miles a week, to complete 30+ within the five or six days. Sean McLellan was the overall winner, finishing his 30 miles in just over four days. Uh, WOW! I was sitting at 9.5 miles, including the last day of running that didn't get tallied because he had already finished. Sean, your $10 iTunes gift certificate is in your mailbox!

so new and shiny! 01.01.2008 |

I'm so glad you made it here! So this is everything that has been in the works this past month. My new blog is obviously, this! And everything is looking shiny and ready to go. I feel like it's the first day of Kindergarten, and I'm looking at my 12 crayola crayons: the colors are bright, the tips are sharpened, the paper perfectly pressed. :)

Through my blogging, I really like to give a good sense of who I am: which isn't always easy to do online. The promo shots of myself at the top of the page are a new addition; and the middle one features my gorgeous dog. I hope you'll stick around, bookmark my blog, or use the stylin' new RSS feed under the drop-down menu to notify you when new blog posts arise.

The Jamie Delaine Actionssite also went LIVE today. Check that out and let me know what you think. My actions have been one of my most exciting ventures because its so neat to create products for others like myself. I LOVE buying Photoshop Actions and playing around with them, it's like buying a Christmas gift for yourself (c'mon--who hasn't done that at some point in their life?!)

Also: I finally got around to sending off for a load of prints to my wonderful lab, White House Custom Colour, for display around my bedroom. I'm so THRILLED with how they turned out. Especially the large 24x36" print, mounted on 2mm styrene. GORGEOUS!

I also bought this wire line from IKEA a few months back and haven't had the time to order prints, or even get the thing up on the wall! But I LOVE IT! It's so nice to just go to bed to photography and wake up to photography. I feel instantly relaxed when I come into my bedroom. It's so "me!"

Thanks for continuing to read my blog; I'm so thrilled for all the new changes coming to my business the next few months, and can't wait to show them all off. :)
