dean + tamara | engagement session 01.01.2008 | engagements

This afternoon I met up with Dean and Tamara, who are getting married on May 18th in Langley. It was so great to meet them! They booked me as their photographer back in December, but we had yet to meet face-to-face. They are an adorable couple and I had so much fun finding spots to shoot in and around Fort Langley on this gorgeous day.

Dean was a little camera-shy at first, but Tamara managed to loosen him up a little!

I love this shot of the two of them laughing.

This photo and the one above turned out to be my favourite series of shots!

Ok, or maybe this is my favourite series...

The light was beautiful!

The photos with the red in the background are actually on the front porch of a red house! There was a car in the driveway and most likely people inside, but we got the shots we wanted and nobody seemed to care. :)

Congratulations Dean+Tamara, I'm looking forward to being a part of your wedding day. Don't forget to watch the slideshow below!!

lance, shara + laney | family session 01.01.2008 | portraits

Today, we woke up to a beautiful day of sunshine! It was perfect weather for my shoot with Lance & Shara and their gorgeous two-year-old daughter Laney. You may remember Laney if you are a long time follower of my blog, as I had a shoot with her about eight months ago. Lance also happens to be my second cousin, and Lance & Shara bid and won on this photo shoot at the Youth Art Auction back in November.

This shot makes me want to squeeze the bits out of Laney. She's SO adorable!

Look at that face, and that adorable bow.

I had a blast hanging out with you guys this afternoon, enjoy the following slideshow!

i feel so blessed! 01.01.2008 | personal

Lately, I just feel so blessed. God has brought some incredible opportunities my way and I am overflowing with thankfulness and excitedness (not a word, I know, I know: sometimes the words that aren't really words express things the best!). I have four shoots coming up in the next three weeks, which will be a blast. I have a family session this Sunday with the Holcombes, an engagement shoot with my May 18th couple Tamara and Dean, a baby shoot with Hannah and her parents, and a graduation session with Liz. Definitely looking forward to all those!

I've always been such a fan of the fall and winter, but lately, I'm realizing that the short days, and the cold really hinders a photography business! But things are looking up. It was beautiful and sunny today and it really felt like Spring. However, Vancouver weather is anything but consistent, and we could get a surprise rain: I hope not, I don't want to cancel any of my shoots!

The real reason I am writing this blog post is because I bought an adorable earring tree on Etsy a few weeks ago. If you've never been to Etsy, you absolutely need to check it out. They just have a plethora (how do you like THAT word?) of homemade goods, such as pillows, earrings, vintage frames, dresses, blankets, buttons, EVERYTHING! No joke.

I've been wanting one of these for the longest time. There's quite a few availble on Etsy but I wanted a really BIG one that could house all my earrings. I love jewellery but without my earring tree, I could never find all the pairs I had bought and ended up wearing the same ones all the time! I found my earring tree in THIS shop, called claudinescloset.

And last weekend, we were in Lynnwood, WA and went shopping to at the mall. I found this adorable lantern for $12 at Urban Outfitters. I love UO's apartment section of their store. Great curtains, bedspreads, pillows, random lamps.

Have a great Wednesday!
