The Vancouver Club Wedding | Lesley & Adam 01.01.2008 | weddings

Lesley took the mic after her husband Adam to say a few words. Looking out into over a hundred faces of beloved guests she began, "Adam and I want to thank you all for coming to celebrate with us." Lesley stood oh-so-close to her new husband Adam, not wanting to be even two steps away from him. "To Adam's parents, I thank you for raising this boy into the man he is today." She smiled, "I am crazy-in-love (said quickly, with a humourous shake of her head from side to side) with this incredible man. My husband Adam."

There's moments in my life when I meet people that I just get. Lesley and Adam are those kind of people. From my first meeting with these two in Starbucks in the Spring of 2008, we chatted our faces off. We talked about everything under the sun and probably even talked about the sun (or lack of it in Vancouver Aprils) as well. I shot their engagement session nearly a full year ago (mid-July 2008) and also had it filmed for a promo video.Lesley has a natural entrepreneurship/business brain, as does Adam. I LOVE hanging out with people who think like me! Over the past few months I've enjoyed getting to know them even more before their wedding day. After coffee dates and dinner at their apartment, I can confidently say I arrived on June 20th as a friend of these two. What's better than seeing a friend married to the man she adores? Nothing! What a great day.

Lesley is a woman of style and details and her day made me squeal with delight. First of all, she had three pairs of shoes: purple for portraits, white for the ceremony, brown dancing shoes for the reception. Yes please. All of the reception details and flowers for the day were organized by the super sweet Jeanette from Delovely Creative. (Love her!) The ceremony venue was the crazy-amazing Holy Rosary Cathedral in downtown Vancouver and the swanky reception was at The Vancouver Club.

The bride and groom are currently enjoying Greece and I couldn't be more jealous. Ohh Adam and Lesley, can't you get married every weekend so I could be a part of this day over and over? :)

Love,
J.

Lesley and her ladies got ready in a penthouse suite at Pacific Palisades hotel.

I was kind of in love with the hotel room. And Lesley's shoes.

Fun colour everywhere in this room!

One of my favourite getting ready shots ever.

I definitely wanted to shoot in this room all day.

Lesley designed every aspect of this day around great photos, so of COURSE she chose to do a First Look! LOVE IT. Look at their reactions!

You certainly can't fake moments like this. Pure emotion.

Adam and his men looking handsome. Recognize the guy on the very left? Adam's brother Mike was married in October 2008 and I photgraphed Sarah & Mike's wedding.

Oh this church blew my mind.

Married!!

After the ceremony and a receiving line, Adam and Lesley set aside 45 minutes for portraits of just them. Perfect.

Love the dramatic-ness of this.

Lesley made a quick change to her look: took off her cathedral veil, put on red lipstick and a flower hairpiece, funky silver earrings and a thick bangle bracelet. Very fitting to the formal lobby of the Vancouver Club.

Gosh. One of the top 5 shots of the day.

These two just ooze elegance. (Oozing elegance doesn't sound so elegant hey?)

I think I almost gasped along with Lesley when we both saw the reception ballroom for the first time. WOW.

Detail heaven.

Lesley especially did an impeccable job on her stationary. I was so excited to receive her Save the Date in the mail, and then her invitation. Classyyyy!

There were a few tears!

Okay a lot of tears. :)

And laughs.

And pointing of the fingers and laughter.

Lesley and Adam had been taking dance lessons for the past four months to learn a choreographed Waltz for their first dance. They surprised all their guests as they hadn't told anybody about their lessons! Such a fun idea.

Eeek, this image makes me squeal with delight. So romantic.

Okay, so, blog readers I know I already blogged 40 photos. Sue me. I couldn't choose. To see about 60 more, check out the slideshow of Lesley and Adam's day by CLICKING HERE.
