I'm a wedding and portrait photographer living in Vancouver, BC with my husband Randy. I photographed my first wedding when I was only 17 years old - and I've photographed over 200 weddings since! I am an avid bookworm, lover of green tea, pretty nail polish & my Labradoodle Harley. Thanks for visiting!

Our Love Story
Quite a few months ago, an email inquiry landed in my inbox. It simply had the bride and groom’s name, the wedding date, an email address and the description said, “We are ready to book our event. Please be in touch!” Hah! Straight to the point–I loved it. I called Anjum’s Kentucky phone number to find out a few more details. Anjum’s southern drawl immediately made me feel like a friend and I knew I couldn’t wait to work with him and his fiance, native Vancouverite, Faezah. As we chatted about their two-day wedding, Anjum casually mentioned, “Jamie, I’m not sure what it is about your work but Faezah saw your website and said, ‘If you don’t hire Jamie Delaine, I’m not marrying you.'” He laughed, “So, as you can guess. That’s why I emailed you.” — I laughed so hard! We connected on facebook soon after that converastion but it wasn’t until last week that I got to meet these two in person.
I have two separate posts coming for Faezah & Anjum’s big day(s) but the first is the Mendhi Ceremony that was held at the Stanley Park Pavilion in Stanley Park. Always one of my favourite venues to photograph. I was so absolutely, completely excited to photograph this event: I had no idea what to expect but I was laughing the whole night away: smiling, enjoying the dancing, the food, the colours, the love between Faezah & Anjum! The details were exquisite, including Faezah’s henna which was applied the night before, three hours for the feet, three hours for the hands. Enjoy and Part II will be up in a few days!
Another favourite part of this wedding was working with the insanely talented Erik Anderson of Love Story Media (who also filmed my promotional video last summer) — He posted a teaser recap of this event. You simply have to watch it!
