grouse mountain wedding: magda&austen

magdalena and austen were married this past saturday, august 18th in a ceremony at the holy rosary cathedral. you could call their day a “destination” wedding — as magda and austen met, dated, got engaged in illinois [where magda grew up] before moving to washington state recently. they chose vancouver [austen’s hometown] as the perfect place for their small, intimate wedding with only their closet family and friends. magda got ready at the lonsdale quay hotel with her one bridesmaid/maid of honour amber, and a close friend brittany. likewise, austen had only his best friend stand up as his best man and only groomsman.

the day was oh-so-relaxed; magda is a planning genius to have co-ordinated everything so flawlessly from afar. of course, she also had help with the talented team at sweet beginnings — thank you to them! i loved the balloons magda incorporated into her & austen’s day. after the ceremony, all the guests released a single balloon on the steps of holy rosary to celebrate their union. and the extra-large red balloons made for some fun bride and groom photos too!

magda and austen are gorgeous together — a blast to photograph. it didn’t hurt that we had the stunning views of north vancouver and beautiful grouse mountain as a background for portraits either. ;) congratulations to you two, i wish you all the best for your future!
