Our Love Story
It poured all day Thursday and Friday, and the forecast for Saturday was not looking good at all. Dark rainclouds hung in the sky as I made my way to Vancouver at 8AM for Christopher and Eden’s outdoor wedding. We were worried it was going to rain, but it managed to hold off for the entire day! Christopher lives in Orlando, Florida and Eden lives here, in Vancouver, BC–pretty much on the opposite side of the continent. But they met through a mutual friend and have been dating ever since. Because Chris was out of the country, it was hard to meet up with these two so all of our communication was done via phone and email. It was my first time meeting them on Saturday and I felt completely at ease right away. Their outdoor ceremony was absolutely beautiful; it was neat to see how God brought these two together and completely blessed them as a couple so far.
I love Eden’s emotion in this photo. :)
We drove over to the Park & Tilford Gardens in North Vancouver for photos following the ceremony.
Christopher and Eden are just so relaxed with one another.
We found lots of great locations, including this arch, which led to a bridge that led to a Japanese Tea House. So cute!

Then it was back to the reception for lunch and the party!
Their first dance together as man and wife:
I had to share this moment I witnessed when I was scanning the reception room. Eden has been a nanny in Vancouver with a family for the last eleven years. Yes, eleven! She has raised two beautiful children, Savannah and Cole and it was such a special day for Eden and Chris as well as Eden’s ‘surrogate’ family. They were all so happy for her on her wedding day, but also very sad to lose a wonderful friend and nanny after more than a decade. Cole and Savannah were so sweet and would just stop throughout the day, look at Eden and say, “You look so beautiful.” Or simply say nothing, and just give her a huge hug like this one:
After lunch we went out to Cates Park for a few more photos before saying goodbye. This is one of my favourites:
Christopher and Eden, I wish you an amazing life together in Florida. I know God’s blessing and guidance will be on your marriage and your life in the coming years.
