Michelle & Andrew share one of my passions, that being the youth of this generation. Andrew is a youth pastor and Michelle supports him in prayer and encouragement every step of the way. I love seeing couples serving in ministry together; gets me so fired up. ;) Michelle wrote that after their first date she remembers thinking, “I really liked spending time with him. But my gosh, we have barely anything in common. At all.” Haha! I love that start. Two days after that, Andrew invited Michelle over to “meet the parents” at his house for dinner–which Michelle mentioned she thought kinda strange. She decided to go and despite any awkward predictions, the night went wonderfully. Andrew and her ended up in the kitchen talking until well after midnight.
Andrew & Michelle’s wedding was an elegant affair, focused on the God who brought them together for this exact day. I didn’t get the chance to meet Michelle until the morning of the wedding but we greeted with a hug like old friends. I found myself smiling as I watched Michelle smile at everything taking place around her. Not once did I see Michelle worried or stressed about a single detail. She was marrying Andrew and that’s all that mattered. These two decided to have a “First Look” before the ceremony to ensure we’d have time for relaxed photos. So glad they did! The heat and humidity of the day was a lovely challenge but hey, I’ll take whatever sunshiney day I can get. All the guests were such troopers in the heat but me oh my, the AC in the reception area sure felt nice.
Their ceremony was one of my favourites, with Andrew’s dad officiating. Michelle choked up during her wedding vows and you could hear a collective inhale as all the female guests in the audience tried to halt their tearducts. Myself included. It’s a pretty beautiful thing, this wedding stuff. Michelle and Andrew wrote their own vows and it was powerful to hear Michelle, through teary eyes, promise her entire life to Andrew, “Because, Andrew, I truly do trust you with my entire life. I do.”
