Redwoods Golf Course Wedding

Jaclyn and Matt have been together for almost 7 years. They met as “kids” at a youth camp. Jaclyn was 14, Matt was 16. Jaclyn’s family back at home started to hear about this boy she was seeing. Jaclyn’s sister and maid of honour reminisced during her reception speech, “When we heard Jaclyn had a boyfriend, my first thought was ‘Ohhh like that’ll last.’ But here we are!” And Jaclyn’s Dad remembers “every time we drove to camp to visit, we’d try to meet this young man. But zip, news would get around that Jaclyn’s parents had arrived and Matt would take off running. He avoided us all summer. Thankfully the Fall came and he could avoid us no longer.”

These two “high school” (aged) sweethearts were married last Friday at RedWoods Golf Course in Langley. It was the most humid day I have ever experienced in BC. It was phenomenal – in a shocking (not enjoyable) way. I felt like I was on the East Coast. No sun for the majority of the day. Overcast and wet. We were all dripping. But nothing could damper Jaclyn and Matt’s joy! The day was carefree (truly, Jaclyn is so easy-going, Matt the same!) – full of a lot of laughter during the reception and some incredible dance moves.

P.S. Check out their engagement session from March 2012. It was a long engagement – as Matt left town for 6 months to train in Saskatchewan as an RCMP. I’m sure they are both very glad those long 6 months are over!
