Old Orchard Hall Wedding: Kristina and Marshall

Oh wow. Seriously: that is how I can express Kristina and Marshall’s wedding day in a two-word sentence. From the first email Kristina sent me back in March about their August 31 wedding in Port Moody, I knew I would just be in love with this couple and this wedding. Kristina had so many ideas about colours and the ‘look’ of her wedding, from linens to flowers to fashion: all of which was brought to life by Jeanette of Delovely Creative.

Kristina and Marshall set up a wedding website as well, which I absolutely loved! Their ‘story’ was on there, as well as told during the reception speeches. These two actually dated way back in high school, but didn’t see each other until six years after graduation at a friend’s wedding. Kristina was living in Denmark at the time, with Marshall here in Canada. They began to date long-distance and continued for two years, with Marshall moving to Denmark for a while and ultimately, Kristina leaving the life she had built in Europe to be with Marshall here in Canada.

Getting to witness your wedding day, Kristina and Marshall was absolutely amazing. Thank you SO much for allowing me into your lives. Enjoy re-living your wedding day through these photos.

I started my Sunday morning in Belcarra, hanging out with Kristina and her beautiful bridesmaids as they prepared for the upcoming day.

Loveee the shoes of course!

I am just in LOVE with netted veils; Kristina’s was so fantastic, and I loved the cream flowers.

Some last minute touches.

How cute is this?

I think I could take pictures of this hairpiece all day long. So classy.

I had my wonderful second shooter Sherry helping me out, and she started with the guys at Kristina and Marshall’s beautiful Port Moody apartment in the morning.

A cute moment from their “First Look” in Port Moody.

After that it was off to the beach to take a few more shots…

Before we headed to this beat-up furniture store building I have been eyeing for months! I am so glad that Kristina and Marshall are up for anything, because I adore locations like this one.

Can I just say one of the most beautiful bridal parties ever? I adored Kristina’s idea for the bridesmaids “dresses”–so chic, and I was loving all of the girl’s four (or five?) inch black high heels!

Marshall’s sharp-looking Hugo Boss suit went so well with his black skinny tie.

The light was SO perfect! And I loved Kristina’s amazing Nicole Miller dress.

You are SO beautiful Kristina.

I thought this shot of Kristina’s Mom almost tearing up during the family photos was adorable.

After all the photos were done, it was off to the church! Kristina’s family background is Danish, so fittingly their ceremony was held in the Danish Luthern Church of Vancouver. The chapel was stunning with its traditional pews and stain glassed windows.

Love this shot right after their first kiss as husband and wife!

Their love-filled, casual reception was in Old Orchard Hall–the venue had beautiful views out to the water below through the large windows! I love some good detail shots as well:

The newly married couple listening to some very heart-felt speeches.

There was some amazing food and dessert at this wedding; both in look and in taste.

Marshall and Kristina’s first dance was to “Like a Star” by Corinne Bailey Rae. It fit the mood: classy, chic, elegant: of their cocktail reception so well. The slideshow at the end of this post is also set to the same song.

And a final first dance shot, taken by my lovely assistant, to end this massive blog post!
