I'm a wedding and portrait photographer living in Vancouver, BC with my husband Randy. I photographed my first wedding when I was only 17 years old - and I've photographed over 200 weddings since! I am an avid bookworm, lover of green tea, pretty nail polish & my Labradoodle Harley. Thanks for visiting!

Our Love Story
Two evenings ago, ten of my beautiful brides for this year gathered at Pure Nail Bar in Yaletown for an evening of manicures, pedicures, champagne and fun. The best thing about my business is the people I have the privilege of meeting. Every engagement session and wedding day I think, “Man, these people are awesome.” So, how awesome would it be if we got all of them in the same room and had a party? Boom. We did. It was the perfect way to show these girls they are appreciated and valued by me!
Amanda, my bride who was married in a Port Moody downpour in April was there. Jenelle, married only three weeks ago (home from her honeymoon only a week!) at the Law Courts Inn in Vancouver was also there! My favourite part, all the weddings to come! There was Alyssa, who gets married this FRIDAY, out in the middle-of-nowhere at a lake in Hope. It was her first mani/pedi. Very fun that this event aligned with her wedding week. Next, was the stream of girls getting married in August! We had Cassandra who is getting married in Vancouver on August 2nd, Hannah in Penticton on August 3rd, Allison in Vancouver on August 9th, Kristina in Abbotsford on August 16th, Sarah in Vancouver on August 24th – and that’s not all. Two of my August brides weren’t even able to attend. ;) Finally, in the Fall, we have Natalie getting married on September 27th and Carmen on October 18th. Spending time with these girls made me even more excited to be each of their photographers. It is such an honour and the more years I am in this business (7 years and counting!) the more I realize this.
The only difficult part of my evening was deciding which two colours I wanted One of my brides Allison who sat beside me, said it well, “You planned a wedding in four months but nail polish is a hard choice for you.” Hahah. My decisiveness only transfers so far apparently. By the way, I chose dark purple for my toes and hot pink for my nails, incase you were holding your breath. You can breathe now.
GIVEAWAY: Because of the amazing generosity of Irene, the owner of multiple Pure Nail Bar locations, I have two manicures to give away! If you’d like to win, leave a comment, share this post on Facebook (using the fancy new social media bar at the bottom of this post) & “like” Jamie Delaine Photography. Next Friday, I’ll pick two winners and announce them here!
I have to send a massive thank you to Gloria at The Flower Factory on Main Street. Her work is the best in the city. She’s a doll to deal with, has such a generous heart and as mentioned, talent up the wazoo. LOOK at this arrangement. You’re the best, Gloria.
Of course, we needed a little Pink sparkling wine and some strawberries…
The array of food. Lots of fruit, crackers and gluten free rice crackers, two kinds of cheeses, almonds and craisins.
Every bride who came left with a party favour, a surprise treat from Anthropologie.
Amanda, Sarah & Natalie enjoying themselves. ;)
One of the most important parts of any party is the MUSIC. I had a ton of fun putting together music for our wedding (yes, I did all the playlists!) and this event was no exception. A couple brides were asking about the tunes, “I need you to screen cap that playlist and email it to me!!” so I figured, if two ask, probably more than two want to know. Ta-DAH.
