The Vancouver Club Wedding

(* Story has been edited to exclude bride and groom’s names.) This wedding story began three years ago… at a wedding. The bride was her sister’s maid of honour and the groom was her brother-in-law-to-be’s best man. They connected over a bridal party get-together three weeks before the wedding and although the two of them tried their best to hide their smiles – everyone and their families could see the chemistry between these two! Two years later, they were engaged and began to plan a wedding of their own. The Vancouver Club was the perfect venue and “feel” for the bride’s vision of a vintage-throwback-sophisticated-jazzy affair. I loved seeing the wedding day come together! The bride’s Lazaro bridal gown was drop-dead gorgeous on her. Her face exploded into a grin when she put it on. It was amazing. I loved how she wore her long black hair down, styled but not fussy. “It’s me!” She said. “I never wear my hair up, so why start now.” Simple touches like her signature red-lipstick and classy jewellery brought her look together to perfection. The ceremony took place at Holy Rosary Cathedral and man, I cherish the opportunity to shoot here! I’ve been a handful of times and it’s gorgeous. The bride’s dramatic Lazaro gown was perfect for the long aisle of Holy Rosary Cathedral. We had lots and lots of time throughout the afternoon to capture bridal party portraits as well as an hour to spend with just the bride and groom. Note to future brides and grooms: I love when we have time for just YOU. They were so happy when we were taking portraits – only my camera, my second shooter (thanks Taliah!) and the two of them. It was quiet, serene, casual, easy, fun – without ten other pairs of eyes watching. Bridal parties are wonderful and fun! But you only experience your wedding day once. Take some time for the two of you – you won’t regret it. The Vancouver Club is a gorgeous backdrop for photographs, both outside and inside – and the staff is top-notch. They let us have our run of the place and it was so appreciated.    How classic looking are these two?! Amazing. The Vancouver Club also has a rooftop…. I enjoy rooftops. Of course, we needed a classic car to add to the vintage theme of the day. Love these portraits! Beautiful florals from Garden Party Florist – reminds me of the gorgeous work they did at Helen and Sam’s wedding. Oh that famous Vancouver Club ballroom – you always knock it outta the park. And to finish off the evening, some sparklers to toast to their love! All the best, you two! Your day was a dream! Ceremony Venue: Holy Rosary Cathedral
