hart house restaurant wedding: kellie+ken

one of my favourite parts of my job is learning about how i even got the job. i don’t mean why i was hired… rather learning about why my couples are even getting married in the first place! the stories of my couples are all so drastically different from each other sometime. i’m constantly amazed at all the routes lives can take… all to end up at the altar in marriage. kellie and ken have been a favourite couple of mine since our initial meeting & then their engagement session. so much joy and love and life together.

their relationship started at the age of fifteen and having been together for seventeen years now, they’ve already spent more than half their lifetime together. that’s so incredible. most couples reach that milestone in their 50’s or 60’s! their wedding day was such a fun time. leanne and i were having fun with the bridal party from the first minute; awesome bridal parties make for awesome days. we had a ton of time for photos around vancouver’s yaletown before heading to deer lake park in burnaby. the ceremony and reception was held at the hart house restaurant in deer lake park. the outdoor ceremony was at the perfect time of day; gorgeous light all around. the details kellie had planned for the reception were understated and so classy.

one of the things that stands out most about this wedding day was how much kellie+ken kissed. ;) they raised money for cancer research with each clinking of the glass and gave the guests a show depending on how much they threw in. they got quite a few $100 bills which made for some very entertaining/seductive/goofy/slobbery dancing & kissing. absolutely adorable. $1300 total was raised. yep! kellie+ken, here’s to you two being just as in love and affectionate as you have been for the past seventeen years for the next seventeen years. so much love. (post-script: big thanks to robyn-michelle for third-shooting with leanne & i.)
