portraits: amy & andrew
amy and andrew are a few months away from celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary together. they wanted portraits to remember the milestone and i happened to agree that it would be a rad idea. this couple is delightful. we started the session off right near the entrance of the library and i promptly greeted them, hugged them and we started walking. i had seen one side of the library with some great trees and pathways but couldn’t remember where it was. it didn’t look familiar. we walked around the entire building (a couple of blocks) and ended up back where we originally met. i proclaimed, “this is it!” and they laughed, “this is where we were five minutes ago.” gosh. i’m so blonde sometimes. it looked different.
amy and andrew are incredibly fun to hang out with–such great style together and truly seem like each other’s best friend. amy was smiling telling me about how her and andrew met while working at michael’s craft store. andrew had a mohawk: total teenage punk. amy had long blonde hair and loved scrapbooking. ;) not exactly two peas in a pod but the next thing y’know they were dating. after a few months of dating, amy decided she wanted to continue her education at arizona state university. she up and moved. andrew cried when she left. he decided to move out of his parents house, rent his first place and relocate to arizona just to be with her. i bet that’s when amy knew andrew was a keeper!

These are wicked, Jamie! Love LOVE the library shots! Too bad we missed each other in LA…
Great work at one of my favorite spots in LA! Such a wonderful library and a great spot for photos. AND- only a couple miles from my house! Sorry I missed you being in town!
Great shots! One small correction to the story. Amy went to Arizona State University (in Tempe), not the University of Arizona (in Tucson). And she has a degree in English Literature, which makes the library shots all the more appropriate. Thanks for capturing their milestone. Can’t wait to see Kaitlin and Joe’s pics too.
:) These are too cute! Love the last shot!! I <3 California!!
Too cute…
LOVE!!! Jamie, these photos make me so happy …. Thanks so much!xo
LOVE that you did photos in the library. Super cute!
I love the photos inside the library. Having the books in the shots adds a lot of character. That is definitely something I would love to do :)
I love so many of these, but especially the one behind the plants and the last one, you captured their personalities so well. Beautiful!
