switchfoot: in concert.
i blogged quickly about the music festival (creationfest) i camped at in july but i didn’t post any photographs of music. when i put these up on facebook in july (and after my “personal” creationfest album full of friends) my friend candace huck commented, “FINALLY. some proof that you actually heard some bands and didn’t just sit around laughing in a circle all week.” man i love her. yep, here’s proof that we did more than chill in a circle all week. we heard some great shows: john mark mcmillan (twice! and would have been three times had they not changed the schedule without warning. SO LAME); francesca battistelli, kari jobe, hillsong live, newsboys (ohh yeah. 90s flashback), tobymac and i’m probably forgetting some but finally: switchfoot.
my rad friend sarah has music connections and she was there all week in the press tent doing interviews and such. she hooked me up with a pass to shoot and it was pretty cool to be right in the front, in front of all the people who had waited for hours to be right at the front. yep. perks of the job!

Gorgeous shots! At least now you know if the whole wedding thing doesn’t work out you can always do concert photography. ;)

Great shots! I’m so jealous haha. When they were in Vancouver the last time at the Commodore I waited in line for a couple hours and was in the front and center but I was only allowed to bring a crappy point and shoot and not my DSLR :(

Wow, great shots! That sounds fantastic (ha, no pun intended, really). I’m guessing you were at Creation West, though? I’ve been to Creation East several times, and it’s always amazing! Glad you had a great time. And what a great spot! Folks who haven’t been to Creation don’t know the extent to which people go (and how many people there are! ) to get great spots!LOVE the band, too!
I love that after so long and going solo and releasing 4 EPs on his own, he’s still so passionate about Switchfoot. :] Jon Foreman is awesome. You should check out twloha.com. Jon Foreman was the first to wear their t-shirts and it’s a great cause, close to my heart… I’d be shocked if you hadn’t heard of it already but just in case… :]
I saw Switchfoot live for the first time at Soulfest a few weeks ago… they were awesome!!! Brought back a lot of memories of my teenage years :)
