I am so excited to be sharing Lainee and Michael’s wedding day with you today for many reasons! Let’s start at the beginning… I met Lainee when her mom started working for one of my mom’s businesses (which she has since sold) about twelve years ago! We were both thirteen or fourteen and quickly connected over many of our similarities. Lainee has the sweetest heart and I have so many good memories of our times together around early high school. For a season, we even attended the same school and had the same classes!

Then we have Michael. He became friends with my brother Brandon a handful of years ago, after moving “back” to Vancouver from Nashville (where his Dad had been working.) Michael and Brandon became fast friends and one day my mom said, “Michael? What’s his last name?” Chapman. She laughed, “Well, you’re third cousins.” What! Turns out – our Grandmas were first cousins. So there we have it – a psuedo-friend-cousin named Michael. Since then, Michael has been a super good friend of Brandon’s (was the Best Man in Brandon’s wedding last September) and a few months ago, moved into my parent’s spare bedroom. (Making them empty nesters no more!) 

When Lainee and Michael got together last summer… they fell fast. I was excited to hear Michael was interested in Lainee, someone who I have so much respect for, but I remember one conversation specifically in Starbucks where I said, “Michael, don’t play with her. If you’re thinking about playing with her heart, just end it now.” Hahaha. Well, Michael, I’m glad you weren’t playing with her heart! Only a few months after their first date, Michael proposed to Lainee and she said yes! For the last 8-9 months they’ve been planning their dream wedding day and every detail worked out perfectly.

Lainee was absolutely gorgeeeeeeous and I loved being their photographer. Her details were amazing! The light throughout the day was amazing! Their wedding party was absolutely gorrrrgeous. (And included my brother Brandon, as well as another past bride of mine, Carly!) I’m so excited to share these images with you today!

P.S. This was my first wedding of the 2016 season! Can’t WAIT to see what else this wedding season holds… so surreal that this is the beginning of my 9th year shooting weddings.
