A few weeks ago, I received an email from William sharing that he was a groomsmen in Alvina and Jonathan’s wedding from a few summers ago… and was planning on proposing to his girlfriend Harriet soon! I said yes, absolutely, I love photographing proposals, and William shared his plan with me. Saturday evening, he’d have Harriet’s friend bring her to her cousin’s house to ‘say goodbye’ to some extended family that had been in town the past week.

Of course, the family had left earlier that day – and it was all a lie to get Harriet in her cousin’s backyard! Where William was waiting with flowers, all three of Harriet’s dogs, a diamond ring and a very important question.  Before Harriet arrived, William made the final touches to the backyard set up he had completed late the evening before. I also loved that William snuck into Harriet’s house after she was gone to bring all three of her dogs over to her cousin’s home. As a dog person, I know she loved that… :)  After William and Harriet shared a few moments, we took a few posed photos to commemorate the occasion!
