Stanley Park Teahouse Wedding

I have been so excited for Ronald and Emily‘s wedding day since I met them at their engagement session just a few short months ago! Their wedding day is everything I love in a wedding day – gorgeous natural light, amazing view from the Stanley Park Teahouse, relaxed and smiley bride and groom (so smiley!), good food, intimate feel with close friends and family gathered around… on a weekday, no less! It was the best.

Vancouver is playing an awful trick on us the last month – summer came ‘early’ for us in April and May and now, June and July have been less than lovely. As the forecast said rain all day, we hoped for a break in the clouds. After Emily and Ronald’s lunch reception, we had scheduled portraits from 3:15pm to 4:00pm before saying goodbye… and guess what? The rain STOPPED! It was crazy! And then continued all evening.

I absolutely loved putting together this blog post – enjoy!

This was the view from outside of the suite where Emily prepared for the day!

When we arrived at the Stanley Park Teahouse, it started to rain even harder! Thankfully, we were allowed to enter the venue even earlier than planned… and do the First Look and all pre-ceremony portraits indoors. Best of all, because the teahouse wasn’t officially open yet – there were no other patrons in the restaurant! We had the place to ourselves.

Even with the downpour outside, the light indoors was pretty amazing…

Originally, the ceremony was planned outside at Ferguson Point, a beautiful lawn with a view of the ocean and mountains. On Tuesday evening, 36 hours before the wedding, they decided to hold the ceremony indoors for Thursday! I love how Emily and Ronald kept it simple.

The food was divine.

As mentioned, after saying goodbye to all of their guests, we ventured into the forests and trails of Stanley Park for some outdoor portraits. The wait was worth it!

I love this one.

To end our time together on the wedding day, we took a few portraits near the spot where they were supposed to get married. Even though an outdoor ceremony didn’t work out in the end… I’m glad we captured these to remember the beauty by! Congratulations Emily and Ronald! You two were a total joy to work with. All the best!
