Shangri La Vancouver Wedding Photos

Kerrie and Ryan met a few years ago, at the restaurant she worked at. Ryan was a regular customer and upon first sight, he walked over to Kerrie and exclaimed to her, “You’re stunning!” The flirty exchange grew into a beautiful relationship and a couple years later, Ryan proposed to Kerrie on a vacation in San Diego. For the next two years, Kerrie planned her and Ryan’s dream wedding at the Market Restaurant in the Shangri La Hotel in Vancouver.

Kerrie’s hard work was worth it! The wedding day was a dream – from Kerrie’s custom designed dress (amazing, right?), Jimmy Choo heels, gorgeous earrings, a meaningful church ceremony and a stand-up cocktail reception with all the food and drink you could ever imagine! I specifically love all the portraits we captured: at Queen Elizabeth Park but also in and around the iconic Marine Building in Vancouver, where we had exclusive private access to the rooftop for more photos. (Thanks for pulling some strings and arranging that, Ryan! His construction and design company worked on the recent remodel of the top few floors.)

Kerrie and Ryan are now off on an amazing honeymoon in East Africa – I hope you both have the best time! Enjoy these images!

Kerrie’s ring is so unique – I love the diamond cut!

The minute Kerrie stepped into her dress… wow, she shined.

In the photo below on the left, you can see the sunshine streaming through the stained glass windows. Kerrie grew up attending this church and she mentioned this beautiful feature. I wanted to capture it for her to remember!

Kerrie and Ryan chose to keep it simple – Kerrie’s best friend as Maid of Honour and Ryan’s son as his Best Man.

How amazing is this location?

As mentioned, there was no sit-down dinner portion at Market Restaurant, it was all drinks and canapes and it was amazing! There was food galore, in every room and servers brought it around to various tables all night while guests mingled. I loved the ‘party’ atmosphere – formal but still fun!
