Jady and Doug met at church through mutual friends years ago… and have been dating for five years. Their wedding day has been long-awaited by their family and friends and it was an absolute joy to spend thirteen hours of their celebration with them. The morning started with Door Games at Jady and Doug’s townhouse, always the best candid photos, before a tea ceremony for Jady’s family. Their ceremony at Westwood Alliance Church was full of thanksgiving to God, joy and emotion between both Jady and Doug during the vows as they tried to hold back tears.
The Swaneset Resort property is a dream for wedding portraits. The long tree-lined driveway is gorgeous in every season, but particular in the Spring/Summer when the leaves are so full. Jady and Doug’s wedding party was so easy to work with, we really loved meeting all of them. The reception room was decked out in rich purple tones and round tables for over 200 guests. Right before the reception began, another tea ceremony took place for Doug’s family. I love how special these ceremonies are. They don’t take place in English, but it’s crazy how I don’t feel I’m missing much – you can simply see the joy, care, love, affection through the body language, every time. I love it.
Enjoy Jady and Doug’s many, many photos in this blog post!
P.S. It was amazing to see so many familiar faces from Carman and Tommy’s wedding, only three weeks before. The two couples go to the same church, so I recognized at least 10-20 guests! It was also great to see Elaine and Hason, whose wedding I’m shooting on August 5th! So soon!
