Stanley Park Teahouse Wedding

Haley and Jake emailed me last October about their small Sunday Stanley Park Teahouse Wedding with 70 friends and family. We corresponded over a few emails in the past year, but up until their wedding day morning, I had never met Haley nor Jake. Right away, it felt like I had known them longer than 10 minutes. :)

We started with a First Look on the Teahouse property between Haley and Jake around 9 o’ clock in the morning. Nobody is in Stanley Park at that time! Makes for amazing images. Haley and Jake’s wedding party: Quinn, Ashleigh, Kate, Tim and Andrew were a lot of fun to hang out with and truly made my job so easy.

After an hour of portraits with the most beautiful clouds that seemed to threaten more rain (it rained all night, for the first time in about 6 weeks in Vancouver!) – the sun came out during the ceremony! Haley and Jake enjoyed champagne and appetizers with family on the Stanley Park Teahouse lawn after the ceremony, before taking family photos. Their reception took place around 12:30pm and guests enjoyed (and I!!) an amazing 3 course meal. The food is always fabulous at the Stanley Park Teahouse—and I will forever believe it is the best wedding venue for 70 guests or less in Vancouver. It is always a joy to shoot there.

Haley & Jake, thank you guys for trusting me! Haley, thank you for following my blog ALL those years ago and knowing I was the photographer for you. You two are a kind, beautiful couple and I was happy to be a witness to your day. All the best to you both!

How great were these dresses? I am loving the recent trend towards light blue/light grey, it’s this season’s ‘blush pink’ and I love it.

How great are these clouds? I was super happy for the lovely light.

Haley and Jake kept laughing about how awkward they felt, “Maybe we should have done an engagement session after all,” Haley joked. But I assured them, “You are actually doing amaaaazing. It’s my job to make you look awesome!”

I think they look great.
