Ten years ago, Eloise moved with her family from Singapore to Canada — and Joey was with his family, living in Singapore. The pair didn’t know each other existed… yet!

Two years later, still living countries apart, Eloise + Joey connected on Facebook and MSN Messenger through a group of mutual friends. They hadn’t met in person, but had a similar friend group, and their online friendship was natural and easy.

A few months into their friendship, Eloise went back to Singapore to visit friends for summer break and of course, she met Joey in person. Eloise knew he was the one for her… and by the end of the summer, they started talking about what an around-the-world long-distance relationships would look like.

They knew they’d regret it if they didn’t at least try. So try, they did — for a total of 5 years dating long-distance, seeing each other sometimes only once a year.

Two and a half years later, Joey made the move to Canada to be with Eloise and to start their new life together! This February, Joey proposed to Eloise in one of their favourite places: Brandywine Falls in Whistler + I can’t wait to be their wedding photographer for their wedding this July!
