First Things First, Make Your Bed
I often reiterate how much I love my city but have I ever mentioned how much I love my airport?! YVR is so lovely in every way. Besides the fact that it’s about an hour’s drive away from my house and not that convenient to get to, once you get here it’s lovely! Free wi-fi. Enough said, right? I’ve had enough of paying $10 an hour for internet everywhere I travel. I love that I get to enjoy the net for free before I leave my city. That’s exactly what I’m doing right now. Sitting in the airport, at 5:45AM. I was up at 3:30AM this morning.. correction, my alarm was set for 3:30AM.
My mom comes in at 4:00AM and says, “JAMIE! GET UP!” — I say, Huh? And jump out of bed automatically, while simultaneously making my bed (I’m not kidding. I have never left the house without making my bed. Ever.) and shutting off my blaring alarm clock–how I missed the alarm I have no idea. Fifteen minutes later, we’re in the car. The sun is just rising now over the mountains and it’s gorgeous. Reason #184 why I love Vancouver. Today I fly from Vancouver to Seattle to Chicago to Raleigh. In 12 hours, I’ll be greeted by the beautiful Cait Elizabeth.
I’ll be staying with Cait, her five siblings and her parents for two days when I’ll be shooting her Senior portraits one day and their family pictures the next! I’m super excited to see Cait again, it’s been two and a half months since WPPI and Vegas where we stayed together. It will be a lovely time! I have a lot of Seattle photos to blog from my quick trip there on Thursday, but here’s a sneak peek of the gorgeous farmland on the way to the US border from British Columbia.
Happy Tuesdayyyy!

you make your bed EVERY DAY?????? That’s crazy talk. Growing up w/ a waterbed, I learned quickly that was a PITA. So I stopped sleeping w/ a top sheet. Just a blanket, thank you, so I could just smooth it out. No tucking involved. Then I met Erik. A man who feels the same way! It’s amazing. Erik and I are about the same level of “clutter” …. which means I don’t feel bad about not making the bed in the morning, and neither does he!!! ;)
Perhaps I will learn from you. I have a hard time remembering to make my bed. And it hurts my mom’s feelings. I’m old enough to do it, I just haven’t made it a priority.
In other news, I’m preparing the bed on which you will rest your head in approx. 10hrs and 21mins (my time). Haha. Actually you won’t go to sleep the moment you land so it will be a little longer…
can’t wait to see the photos!

Gross! Your alarm was going off just after I put my head to rest. I’m the same with my bed, except today – but that’s because I know I’ll be washing my sheets immediately! Have a great time, and I’m sure I speak for everyone who reads this when I say I can’t wait to see the photographs you bring home!
You’re such a dedicated blogger! I love my Sacramento airport! They have free wi-fi and an area for people to plug in and use their laptops!
Whhaaatt? Raleigh? I’m a blog stalker and I live outside of Raleigh. Can I come along on your shoot? Pretty please? :)
