“she was in grade nine, i was in grade ten. a nerdy computer science class. that’s how we met.” keith shared his & helen’s story with me, during our engagement session this past saturday at vancouver’s iona beach park. “we were friends—acquaintances–and nothing really developed until the last year of high school.” helen and keith started dating as seventeen & eighteen year olds and helen said she quickly knew this guy was it for her… and marriage was in their future. ;) i absolutely love the hearts of this young couple–keith and helen have such a strong faith in their Lord and an amazing love for each other.
we managed to fit in two quick outfit changes for three different outfits during this shoot, all before the vancouver rain started pouring down saturday morning. amazing. it was a very cold day; probably one of the coldest yet and by the end of the shoot my feet were soaked and my fingers numb. it was worth it though. loved hearing about their plans for their may 14, 2011 wedding. helen is a wedding photographer with RF productions and i love that about her. she has seen so many weddings that she says she wants “nothing conventional.” mmm, i like the sound of that! i haven’t been shooting much at all lately, so it was a welcome change to be out and creating with these two on the weekend. thank you two for bringing your energy and life and smiles and the occasional “serious face” to this shoot. :) enjoy!
