to remember the day.
join me in my yesterday… i was up before eight: a challenge considering i had been up past 2AM the previous two evenings. on the road headed south to the american border: the winter sun rising, the fog thick, jesusculture playing through my car speakers. i arrived at the woods coffee in downtown bellingham: paid for parking [i hate paying for parking] and found a table in the sunshine. i was meeting mandie sodoma and dorothy huynh at ten o’ clock: it was only twenty after nine. thankfully i had brought my esv bible and my journal. i ordered a cedar [woods version of "grande"] americano in a mug & an ice water. [i don't know how to drink an americano without an ice water alongside.] i opened up my bible and began to read. i read through john. a few chapters, twelve to fourteen.
i flipped to second corinthians and began at the first chapter. i began to read and read and read. i wrote down verses and little notes as they came to mind. before i knew it, almost an hour passed: all thirteen chapters of second corinthians digested. i read over my notes: overwhelmed with joy & peace & the promises we have in Him. — You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. [2 Corinthians 9:11] – by this time [quarter after ten] dorothy + mandie should really be here… i had a suspicion i was at the wrong woods. there are two i go to a lot in bellingham. pulled up the original email: of course i was at the wrong one. they forgave me. i found them waiting at the woods by the water. the three of us sat with our laptops, catching up on the last few months of our lives.
mandie had returned less than a month ago from washington DC, where she was going to school and interning with world vision. dorothy had finished another semester at SPU. both girls are back at SPU for the spring semester, starting classes this week. i love these girls & their hearts. they have known each other for a few years, where as i met them through learning sessions. i taught dorothy last november and mandie last december. so funny to think about now! here we are, meeting as friends. we sat with our macbook pros and chatted, edited, blogged, answered emails, showed what we were working on for 2011. as two o’ clock approached [& mandie had to head back to seattle] we took photos by the water, to remember the day.
it was a good day.

I am *really* diggin these posts! The water pictures are beautiful. Love the lighting. Love second Corinthians, also.
After reading this, I just want to sit for hours and soak in the Word! And I order a cup of water with my coffee too! Gotta stay hydrated! :-)
I Recognize that spot Boulevard Park Right? I do many shoots in that exact spot! Very popular place :)

It’s so refreshing to see a fellow Christian photographer openly sharing her faith! great pictures as well!
