Decaf Coffee, Here’s to You.
I love coffee. I do. I love it a lot. In the famous words of Mya, my love for coffee is like WoAH. S’true. Second to coffee, I love green tea. I have an obstable standing in between my green-tea and strong-dark-black-coffee addiction and I: call us star-crossed lovers, if you have a flair for the dramatic.
My body doesn’t like caffeine. Not one bit. Especially on an empty stomach. I shake like somebody has just snuck up behind me and screamed in my ear. Repeatedly. My hands quiver, it’s hard to type because I’ll keep pressing the wrong keys. I swear caffeine causes voices in my head to grow louder and louder and louder with each cup of caffeinated goodness. You may think I’m being dramatic, but I’m not. I pinky swear.
A few days ago I had two cups of caffeinated coffee in the morning and a few hours later I felt like my head was so loud I wanted to bury it in the backyard lawn. Unfortunately that was not a viable option for fear of looking like an ostrich… not to mention scaring the next door neighbours. It’s as if the thirty-two different voices of Jamie Delaine are all shouting at me at ONCE. Let me tell ya folks, it sure ain’t pleasant. I would not recommend stepping into Jamie-Delaine’s-brain-on-caffeine anytime soon.
So on this lovely Wednesday afternoon (currently dark and overcast and gray in Vancouver and lovin’ every minute of it) I’d like to raise a mug of decaffeinated goodness and propose a toast to whoever first proposed removing the caffeine from a good cup of coffee and green tea.
My next door neighbours and I thank you.
Check out this cuteness I captured with my new Macro 100mm f/2.8 lens. Such a sweet Mr. Jeffrey. He was just “fixed” a few days ago, so he’s got the cone of shame on his head right now. I feel so bad for him! But he looks kinda like a cute space cadet or something.
Oh Taylor. She moves a lot quicker than Jeffrey and this photos is blurry but I feel like I’d be neglecting my daughter if I didn’t post a photo of her here along with her… uncle? (Jeffrey = my mom’s daughter, Taylor = my daughter: yes we’re clinically nuts I know.)
Ahh..Jamie, I have the SAME love-hate relationship with my daily cup o’ joe!! I get the caffeine shivers by noon and I HAVE to take my lunch break…otherwise, I can’t even think straight!!!

Yay! I knew that more people would jump on board the no caffeine kick with me. I have been “without” since April 13th (according to my blog), aside from the one cup of coffee I had to have on Alaska Airlines on my way to see you, it has been nothing but decaf! Love it! And my body feels so much better, along with the lack of mood swings and the need for that 3 p.m. need for caffeine. Love that picture of Jeffrey!

I’m still a caffeine junkie..wish I could kick it….but their may be an uprising in my household if I switched the joe…lol
Yeah, coffee gives me the jitters. I don’t much like it, but a few years ago had a meeting w/ the mayor in his recording studio. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I’m not a coffee drinker and he kept pouring it into my cup (I compulsively drink ANYTHING in front of me), and well …. I was shaking SO BADLY all afternoon. Insane!!!!! I don’t think I’ve had coffee since.
