Michelle +Mitch : Day After

Michelle and Mitch booked me a few weeks ago for their September wedding. We had never met before their session this past weekend, but I felt at ease with them immediately: without a doubt. Michelle is crazy. No, really. Michelle is self-proclaimed crazy, Mitch-proclaimed crazy, and now Jamie Delaine-proclaimed crazy. We all mean that in the sweetest of ways, because Mitch and I both love her. ;) In fact, Mitch is going to marry her on September 12th!

Oh Michelle, you are SUCH a sweetheart. I love your crazy ideas, your zest for life, your enthusiasm for anything out of the ordinary, and your taste in shoes. Mitch, you are her rock: the one who keeps her from doing anything too crazy but still loves to go along for the ride.

In one of our first emails back and forth, Michelle mentioned she wanted a Trash the Dress session before her wedding instead of an engagement shoot. I was down for it! She wanted dirty, muddy, messy. Mitch thought she was CRAZY (apparently this is an often used word in their relationship?) but went along with the idea with a little coaxing. “Whatever she wants,” he said as he smiled with an I’m-so-crazy-in-love-with-this-crazy-woman kinda smile.

Michelle and Mitch, thank you for being who you are. Authentic. Real. My kind of couple.

I almost died with these shoes. Seriously. Michelle. I can’t wait for your wedding.

They have a great goofy/funny side too. :) So cute.

P.S. I thought I was going to die on this bridge. There were “warning” signs everywhere, every board creeked, and there were 2 inch gaps in between all the boards. Umm… anything for the shot, right?!

And, into the water we go. Truly trashing the dress, folks. No worries though, Michelle bought two dresses: one for the shoot and one for her wedding day!

Oh you’re crazy Michelle. ;) Muddy water and your beautiful hair?

Folks, it was NOT a warm day. Overcast, very very windy, I can’t believe these two. Love this shot though.

They are so in love. This photo says it all.

A peaceful moment in a freezing cold river. Haha!
