The Seven O’Clock Hour

Aug 31

Usually I love the seven o’ clock hour in the morning. It’s not as tiring as five or six o’clock, feels a little bit like sleeping in (for me!) but still early enough to be productive. This morning, I wasn’t a fan of seven o’ clock. In fact, I loathed it. I cursed the part of my brain that controls sleep habits. (Hey, that’s the best I can do, I ain’t no science geek!) I tossed and I turned. I moaned and had a stern talking-to with my brain: Listen up Jamie Delaine’s brain, Jamie Delaine’s body shot two weddings for 20 hours in the past 48 hours and you better give it some more rest.

My brain ignored me. I found that incredibly rude. So I’m up. With two nights of six-hour sleep in a row. Plus I woke up with a full-blown cold. Scratchy throat. Achy body. Dangit. For the past six months I’ve been a-braggin’ to everyone that I haven’t had a cold since I left school in December. Schools are a breeding ground for germs if I ever saw one. Well, I’m not sure WHO gave me this cold, but when I find that person… I’m going to tell them what’s what!

That is… If my brain can even form a coherent sentence at this time. The odds of that are not looking fabulous.

I shot six thousand frames at these past two weddings, but here’s a quick sneak peek of Lynn and Ian’s Saturday wedding. Lots of fun new stuff coming up for Jamie Delaine Photography, as well as blogging these two great weddings–so it may be a few days longer than usual!
