Kim Kalyn : 1-on-1 Session
The day before I left for vacation, I had a wonderful 1-on-1 Photographer Learning Session with Miss Kim Kalyn (now Spears! She was just married a few months ago!) from Victoria, BC. I’ve seen Kim’s name all across facebook and twitter for the past year and it was incredibly lovely to meet her in person. Kim is ridiculously talented, I just could not believe she wanted to come learn from me! What?!? Kim has a heck of a lot going for her: a wonderful personality, gorgeous smiling face, a whole bunch of fabulous new branding coming out soon, and talent behind the camera. She’s going places!
In the eight-hours I spent with Kim, we mainly focused on organization in our businesses. We went over how I order my life, organize my emails, handle my workflow. I also stressed the importance of outsourcing and getting photos out the door to clients with a quick turn-around. Kim wanted some hands-on practice with shooting manual and nailing her exposures, which we had the opportunity to practice in our session with Shawna and Paul. Thanks for coming all the way over on the ferry to meet me Kim!
