february: through my iphone
february, through a beautiful little thing called my iphone. i started this last month.
one. that’s my pretty friend candace during rev conference.
two. this is my friend josh’s beautiful art. he’s so talented & i can’t even stand when i first look at one of his pieces… i’m on the floor laughing and crying.
three. that’s josh with a disgusting center part.
four. that’s brandon lovin’ life at the arcade on a friday night. gambling his money away in tokens.
five. that’d be josh wearing a fur rug.
six. here’s shinae with her rice wrap snowflake at mongolie grill.
seven. cleaned out my drawers one day: found all my 2010 ticket stubs. beautiful memories. misplaced my brooke fraser ticket. dang.
eight. jeffrey likes to haul my mom’s bible over into his bed to sleep on.
nine. ghetto allegiant airlines. falling apart. we still love it.
ten. family bonding over denny’s.
sometimes i screencap things on my iphone that i love. text messages, emails, comments.
eleven. i have a funny friend named jon. we are both obsessed with this character named tucker jamelson from wave church. we first saw him on carl lentz’s facebook videos. we’ve watched all of them and have them memorized. this blog comment made my day.
twelve. this comment touched me so much, for real. thank you jacqueline.
thirteen. i have a wonderful brother who sends funny texts during church.
fourteen. a very-tired-introverted jamie on her way home from vegas next to her favourite travelmate.
fifteen. brandon. in the window seat. his preference. i had the aisle. my preference.
sixteen. we arrived in bellingham after vegas to FREEZING weather and 30mph winds. i dug socks outta my suitcase.
seventeen. when i read my bible in the morning, taylor always asks to go outside. she sits on the deck like this for ten minutes everyday.
all these: sometimes when i browse bookstores, i don’t feel like spending a gazillion dollars on new books. so i screen cap them for later & order on amazon when i get home. here’s a few that caught my eye this month. i haven’t bought any yet. that’s on the to-do list.

Oooh…..need to look some of those books up! The fiddler one has me intrigued! The Year of Living Biblically cracked me up. AJ Jacobs is so witty in that one. SO glad to finally have met you at WPPI this year doll!
I totally take pictures of books at bookstores to do the same thing. Why but them at a bookstore when you can get them cheaper elsewhere? Plus I love getting mail so Amazon is fun:)
O girl, if you haven’t read Eat Pray Love, you should do it! It is fantastic!
@Sarajane – I’ve actually read that one! It was just lumped in with other books in the pile. I liked it: didn’t like the movie!
I toooottally do that with books, haha, glad to know I’m not the only one! :)
Been reading alot? :) Reading is one of my FAVORITES! ;)
Wow all those pictures are so fun! That artwork looks pretty funny. :)Your moms Bible is HUGE! and beautiful.
I do the same thing with books. 1) open camera app & Snap picture, or 2) open amazon app and sneakily scan barcode. press “buy with one click” button, and slyly whistle as I continue to look at books. It’s so wrong! Lol
lol that guy is so good looking. cool middle part & pleather & fur.
thanks for the lovely comment, josh. ;) i decided to actually approve this one this time.
Love it, it is all so cute!
‘lunch in paris’ was a fun, light read!
Ahhh I saw alllll of those books in Chapters! I really want to read “Committed-A Love Story.” If you do before me, let me know how it is! =p
Just commenting on your book selection from the ones that I’ve read :D
-Fiddler in the Subway was a good book overall, but is made up of multiple shorts, some were good, some were kind of boring in my opinion, but you might like it. The title piece was good!
-Eat, Pray, Love: Will probably be considered one of the better written books of our time when we look back in 30 years, and you’ll love the travel that plays a major part in it. A large part took place in Italy, and I think she hits the culture right on. The other locations, in India and Bali were interesting, but kind of weird, along the lines of ‘seeking inner peace and oneness with the world’ through the help of some guru-like people. Interesting nonetheless
-Felt like I was living in Italy while reading ‘Everyday in Tuscany.’ Kind of how I would picture it if I lived there. Warning: I felt hungry constantly while reading it, because she is very good at describing glorious sounding food.
-The Year of living Biblically: Hillarious. The Bible from a secular point of view, but extremelly funny. Not really one you’d find at the Bible book store, but great.
Those are what I’ve read from this list, but if you get them, could I borrow ‘How to be a Canadian’ and ‘Why I hate Canadians’? Sounds like something I’d love :D
Wuuu, love the books, a reviw would be cool! And who’s that Josh guy? are you dating him? did I miss a blog post? You and your brother have such a cute relationship, hint for the ladies, a sign of good character is how guys treat their mother and their sister(s). I honestly believe God made us daugthers and sisters to practice obedience and love with them first :)
@Mar – Nope! you didn’t miss a thing. Josh is my very best guy friend, known him for almost ten years. It’s weird blogging about friends… I wanna mention them by name but I fully realize my readers won’t know them ;) HA! and when I do start dating someone there will be no blog post. Definitely will keep that one area of my life private! shocking, I know!
Ohhh, nice. Very best guy friends are blessing from above :). Well, this is your blog and you can pretty much do as you please but I’m sure many of your followers would like to know! It’s a kind of tricky issue because it’s not always going to be sunshine and rainbows but the perk of having a public outlet in this broken world would be showing what’s to be in a godly, blessed, fun and healthy relationship. Personally I think it’s a case in where to be light in darkness. But at the end, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. ;)
Jamie, I’m glad my comment touched you the way it did. It’s funny how that works…God prompts you to write something, or tell someone something…and it touches them. Note to self: always be obedient to what God prompts me to do…even if it’s only something small like commenting on a blog :) Have a beautiful Wednesday, dear girl!
i adore a.j. jacobs – he’s hilarious! and ‘the year of living biblically’ is a great read – i enjoy all of his books (the know-it-all is equally funny). i also really enjoyed ‘secret daughter’ – i’m moving to india in less than 2 weeks to volunteer for a year and it opened my eyes to different aspects of the culture that i didn’t know too much about. really touching.
oh! you have some great books there Jamie – I have a number of them :o) I’ll lend them to ya (saves $$) lol!
