Inspiration: Orchid Grey « Vancouver Wedding Photographer: Jamie Delaine

The rainy weather during the Fall, Winter and Spring lends itself to a very compressed wedding season in Vancouver. My busiest time is always May to September and 2010 is proving to be no different. This past year, I shot 15 weddings in 6 months but for next year I have 22 weddings in 4.5 months. 5 of those weddings require travel. Can you say EEK? It’s quite a frightening calendar I’m facing, but come May I’m confident I’ll be ready to handle it.

The next few months in my life are off from weddings and it leaves me with a challenge. The challenge of balancing “taking a rest” and also finding new inspiration to dive into the 2010 wedding season with. I’m excited about this season and I want to rest with purpose. To be inspired. By the world of art. I’ve been falling in love with fashion blogs lately. Just smitten with them. I can’t get enough. I discovered Orchid Grey last night and I’m sure I read through the entire archives. Fashion inspires. Isn’t this girl incredible? The coolest thing is she rarely spends more than $15 on a piece. Ahh, take me shopping now!

Bear with me, readers. I’m planning to post quite regularly over the next few months about what and who is inspiring me lately in my art and how they are doing it. How does that sound? Boring? Wonderful? You can let me know, but… I probably won’t care. Seeing as this is my blog. ;) Happy Tuesday!
