Port Moody Portraits: Kristen Leigh
Every now and then in the winter I get a glimpse into what the summers feel like in my business. The non-stop, up til dawn, work past dark kinda days. For some reason, I tried to do it all today and it’s kicking my butt. My brother and I were chatting on facebook chat (Yes, we do that. Isn’t that funny? He’s out a lot working at coffeeshops when I’m at home, and vice versa. So we keep in touch online) and I was typing a mile a minute, making a thousand mistakes and proclaiming “I have so much adrenaline rushing through me right now I feel like I’m on speed! Agh! Brandon! Weddings! Emails! Phone calls! Voicemails! Facebook Messages! Shoots to plan! Scheduling! Summer 2010 is coming so fast!” He just laughs and tells me that if anybody can do it, Jamie can do it. I like my brother. He’s a cutie.
But onto something different. I’m sure most of you blog readers have heard of my lovely friend Kristen Leigh by now. She’s a friend of mine I officially met at WPPI in 2009 and I love her but neither of us are sure why. We like completely different kinds of music for the most part. Our ideal clients are opposite ends of the spectrum. Her dream guy is miles and miles and miles from what mine would be. She likes working in a mess… or maybe not likes. Let’s be fair here, but she’s okay with it. It literally slowly rips apart my soul. I’m not being dramatic here (okay I am! Hah!) but it weighs on me and makes me a general grouch to be around. Disneyland is truly the happiest place on Earth to her. I don’t really plan on returning there until somebody convinces me it’s absolutely necessary. We take opposites sides on every argument. Pretty much. I LOVE HER but I would dislike her if I lived with her for more than a few weeks and pretty sure she’d say the same. We’d go crazy. ;) Despite it all, we’re great friends and have managed to maintain this crazy bi-coastal friendship and I consider her one of my very best friends. I love our long phone conversations from Vancouver to Baltimore and back. Enjoy these photos I shot of her hot self when she was here visiting last week. ;)

Ok, so, I figured it out. God made us live in different countries on different coasts so we COULD be friends. haha we need like 3000 miles? Ah, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Awwwww.
