Las Vegas Portrait Sessions.
It’s coming close to that time of year again! The time when thousands of photographers will fly into Las Vegas and take over the MGM Grand for a week of the WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) tradeshow. Last year was my first year going to WPPI and, although I hate Las Vegas, I loved it! Being self-employed working from home can be lonely at times and through facebook and twitter and blogs I feel like I have a lot of colleagues I talk to online… but never in person. WPPI is the perfect chance to connect with photographers. You never have to eat a meal alone, meet new people walking down the halls, while deciding what to order in the food court and while waiting in the MGM Grand Starbucks line. I swear I was there at least twice a day last year? :)
I’m flying into Vegas earlier this year as I’m attending a workshop on Friday, March 5th. The tradeshow doesn’t kick off until the morning of Monday, March 8th, which leaves a weekend to fill up with fun stuff. I’ve received a lot of emails about potentially photographing bio portraits during WPPI or offering mentoring sessions. I’m saying “no, unfortunately” to the second, but yes to the first! Kristen Leigh and I have decided to team up and offer portrait sessions on Saturday, March 6th. You can find all the details about that in this pretty little poster:

Kristen and I are thrilled about this opportunity to work together as a team and to deliver two sets of completely different images based on our own personal style. I am missing the WPPI this year:( I went last year and I too hate vegas but loved the WPPI!
