Brix Restaurant Wedding
It was fairly last minute, but I met Angela Hubbard on a Wednesday… and shot a wedding with her that Sunday! We’ve been connecting via facebook/twitter/emails for a while and been meaning to meet up, but it wasn’t until the Becker workshop that it happened. I threw it out there in conversation that I’d love to second-shoot sometime for a short wedding she may have. Turns out, just four days later, we got to photograph a beautiful wedding at Brix Restaurant.
In true Vancouver style, it rained all morning, but stopped by mid-afternoon in time for photos. Angela & I started the day off with the groom, as he walked a couple blocks to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day. It’s a very different experience to be a second shooter; to meet the couple for the first time on the day-of the wedding, having never heard even their names before! What a warm, welcoming couple they are–along with their 4-year-old daughter. They were so in love, and so ready to get married in front of their closest friends and family.

Their hotel room at the Opus Hotel was stunning! Such a funky boutique hotel.

Can’t forget their dog Lily. So much fun.

I have been dying to shoot at Brix Restaurant for as long as I can remember. Such a unique venue.

Jen & her godmother after the ceremony. Blessed to have witnessed this love. Adroable.

[EDIT] due to some privacy restrictions, I’ve had to remove any up-close photos of the groom. Sorry for the inconvenience! :)

Seemed like such an intimate wedding, love that they were surrounded by friends and family during the ceremony, never seen that before. I love the black and white of right before the bride is about to enter, beautiful:) Their little girl is so stinkin’ cute too! Great job!!!
