there He is waiting

it amazes me that this trip is [almost] behind me now. in eleven hours, i will be on a plane, flying home. the future i dreamed of became the present and now it will live as a memory. it’s nine o’ clock on monday evening, i am back in montreal for one last night. i have been in my friend’s teeny apartment since six o’ clock. i have not done much & i can report the same about the majority of my twenty evenings in quebec.

i have not been bored once. i didn’t know it was possible. it is as if God gave me a special grace for this trip — one of patience, of being still, of not wishing for the next thing. i had expectations for these weeks of travel. i expected God to speak, to encourage, to teach, to reveal. a new year is coming. as a twenty-one-year-old entering 2012, it’s time to act. it’s time to be the woman God wants me to be. to serve Jesus [& His church] like He deserves to be served.

i have reached deeper into the Word than ever before & He has not disappointed. God is good, this i know, this i believe, this i want to shout! the more i have read, the more God has given me a heart for the Bible: his living, breathing, active letter of love for us. i want to search out His heart and the best part is, again and again, He promises that when we look for Him, there He is waiting.

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:10 — The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25

i have absolutely nothing to lose & everything to gain. i am thankful for the scriptures and the prayers God has put in my heart during these weeks. i am thankful for the vision he has given me for my future. i am thankful that i never walk alone. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

my heart is exploding.

ps. thanks for following my blog as i’ve been away. appreciate every person who takes the time to read my words. if you’d like to see all more posts from quebec, you can click that link. same goes for my writing about my life, my travels or my faith.

  • You are always an encouragement to me to continue to read my Bible and put my faith and trust in the Lord, even when my calendar is not full and my future feels uncertain. God is good!

Hey. So glad u had glfun in mtl! You didnt call me for a coffee though! Im sad. Have a safe trip back

  • You do have everything to gain. Acts talks about Peter and John being “untrained men” (4:13), yet they still persevered for the sake of Christ until death. It’s all about your relationship with him. I’m SO excited for you, Jamie. :)

  • This is great. so much many heart exploding….be careful!

  • So glad you had an awesome time! I love reading your blog! I know what you mean about, when god totally speaks to you in different times! Have a safe trip back home!

  • Thank you for being so open and excited about God! I love to read your posts. I do have a quick question- do you have any recommendations for a great devotional? Thanks.

  • so inspiring!

  • your thirst for God’s Word is contagious, jamie! please know that….every time you open your Bible, and jot notes and thoughts down for all to see…you’re encouraging each of us to open up to Him too. thank you. <3

  • The way your faith intertwines so seamlessly with your travels, business, and life in general is so encouraging to read about. I hear often that faith isn’t relevant to our times, but there are many lives that testify to disprove that thought, yours included. Blessings!

  • What a beautiful thing! Thanks for sharing Jamie. Safe travels home
