kellie+ken emailed last summer about their wedding and we arranged to meet up at a starbucks the next week. we were finalizing the time and i mentioned, “you’ll recognize me as the blonde with the yellow laptop bag.” kellie emailed back, “see you soon! we’ll be the hot young asian couple.” — loved them right away. their playfulness and sense of humour together totally cracks me up. the questionnaire they filled out together made me laugh out loud more than a couple times. no exaggerating. let me show you…

i had seen rebecca‘s name floating around the vancouver photographer world for a few months. we had even exchanged a few emails about photoshoot locations in langley and such. though we had yet to meet, we were facebook friends (because us photographers like to be connected… duh!)– and last year i saw on facebook that she was engaged. rebecca being a photographer herself, she literally knows of hundreds of photographers that would do an amazing job capturing her wedding day. i was so stoked when i saw an email land in my inbox saying she was interested in meeting with me. to my delight, they hired me! rebecca+adam’s engagement session last year was one of my favourites of 2009… and one of yours. ;) it was the most commented-on post of the year! i knew fun stuff was in store for their wedding. ooooh, was i ever right!

It was the wedding of a mutual friend and they were placed at the same table. A set-up, of sorts, both Karen and Peter equally unaware of this fact. At the end of the evening (after Peter had caught the garter in the garter toss!) he asked Karen for her phone number. They dated. They fell in love. They got married on June 26th and guess what garter Karen wore on her leg? The one Peter caught four years ago. ;) Too cute.

Part 1 & Part 2 of Laurell & Trevor’s God’s Mountain Estate Wedding have been gracing the blog over the past two weeks. It’s time for part three to land! We’ve covered the morning, the relaxed afternoon, the sweet ceremony and now it’s onto the portraits, the reception, the dancing. The property around God’s Mountain is incredible. We were all freaking out at the beauty around us. Especially Laurell. ;) When we walked down to the field for portraits after the cocktail hour and saw a white horse prancing through the tall grass it was like something out of a music video. Surreal.
