Our Love Story
kara & austin are buckets of fun. not just one bucket. buckets of fun. i have fond memories of these two, even when it comes to booking their wedding. kara emailed me the week she got engaged just so stoked about my work, knowing i needed to be her photographer. always such an honour when a bride emails me so sold on what i do and my vision! i remember the first time we talked on the phone about finalizing the booking for her wedding i was actually strolling through central park in new york. romantic, right?! :)
after the ceremony and some frolicing on the beach with the bridal party, it was time to focus on alison+ryan’s first photos as husband+wife. alison’s birdcage veil by twigs & honey suited her bone structure perfectly. these bridal portraits are some of my favourite ever. so serene and simply beauuuuutiful. i love how carefree these two are together. example: we were about to start photos of the two of them and alison shouts to the groomsmen, “josh, pete! can you guys dig up some crabs for us to take photos with?” and off josh+pete go, turning over rocks all the way down the beach until they’ve found two little crabs for ryan+alison to hold. talk about unique? :) love it.
now that the bride has gotten ready and the couple has had their “first look,” let’s see ’em get married! erika & malcolm’s wedding in bird’s eye cove… part II. here goes! the wedding ceremony took place at four o’ clock in the afternoon out on the lawn just steps down from the farmhouse. erika’s cousin recited “i carry your heart with me” by e.e. cummings before the processional began. the wedding party walked down the aisle arm in arm to matthew barber’s “and you give.” (& we all know how much i love that song.) i pretty much died with happiness when it began. brilliant.
