i find typicalness boring. i want you to tell me what you’re thinking. have opinions. cagney is a tiny, fiery thing. i like that about her. nothing about her is typical & i find her refreshing. i met cagney at a random group hang-out one summer evening. she was strapping on her rollerblades when i walked up to the group. you guys, i have NO idea how to rollerblade. i haven’t done this in years. what the heck is going on! hahah. cagney originally hails from fort nelson, british columbia (way up north!) but moved to abbotsford this summer to live with her cousin [and my friend] shinae. since movin’ in, cagney has been attending my church and my youth group. wednesday, i photographed her.

on may twelfth, i received the sweetest email from a girl named robyn. a new vancouver photographer, writing to encourage me in my work, my writing, my life. the email sat in my inbox for a few days, until i happened to click on the link she had left in her email signature. i clicked onto her blog and skimmed a few entries to see what this girl was all about. i was captivated! robyn’s blog quickly became a favourite and i immediately added it to my daily blogroll. her simple and clean style of photography, her sophisticated prose: i was hooked. i emailed her back with a, i inspire you? what! i’ve just devoured the past six months of your blog, you inspire ME!

i know these crazy kids named erin and maclean. they have been dating for the past four years. i’ve known them since i started attending southgate church when i was a young teenager myself. maclean was the boy in grade twelve who drummed and made skateboarding videos of him and his buddies that were sometimes shown at friday night youth group. erin was… not around at youth because—secret’s out—she’s two years older than maclean. i always like to know the story of how couples meet: who liked who first, who waited around for who to get their act together, etc. ;)
