Our Love Story
vanessa has been a friend of mine since i was twelve years old & one of the “new kids” at pacific academy. we were in the same grade eight class the next year & i remember many-a field trips and science projects with vanessa. to be honest, the rest of our school years together, including high school from grade 9 – 12, are a blur. it seems like an eternity while you’re in school—but life goes by so fast. [praise the Lord for that, couldn’t wait to graduate and get out of those high school doors!] vanessa & i both attended trinity western at the end of 2008, after we graduated high school. we spent that semester meeting in between classes for smoothies in the “lower caf” and driving to wendell’s for coffee in fort langley. since i’ve left university, we’ve managed to stay in touch with monthly coffees. i’m so glad because she’ll soon be moving to australia. yep.
it’s that time of year again. here come the “best of” blog posts! this year, like last year, i’ll be counting down the most popular engagement sessions [fan favourites, if you will] based on the amount of comments received. i’ll also be making a few “honourable mentions” that may not have been fan favourites but they were certainly MY favourites. and it’s my blog. so i figure i have a right to throw ’em in. there’s something fun about doing this–seeing what sessions were the most popular with my readers & trying to analyze why.
“chelsea’s our little elle woods. you know, from legally blonde? oh, we adore her.” brock’s mother whispered during rehearsal the night before her son’s wedding. “don’t get me wrong, she’s a smart gal… is she ever & just like elle woods, she knows how to play with that. she’s girlie-girl to the extreme, pink is her favourite colour, i mean, look at her hair! she does everything though. in her business, in her career, in her family: she does it all flawlessly. we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her in our family.” what an adorable thing to hear from your future mother-in-law. i loved brock & chelsea’s family.
