Our Love Story
claire & wes met at the university of alberta five years ago through an introduction from a mutual friend. that same friend worked her magic on both sides, chatting to wes and then to claire, to stir up a little interest between this couple. claire, on first glance, knew wes was cute. she was attracted, no getting around that. but being four years older than the twenty-year-old wes, she wrote him off as too young. he’s twenty! this kept her at bay for a while, then she said, to heck with it & decided age was just a number. ;) two months after meeting, wes asked her out and they started dating. at our engagement session in steveston, only a few steps outside of their apartment, claire told me about their story. she’s a native edmontonian & moved to quebec for two years to attend mcgill university. it was only upon her deciding to switch programs that she moved to university of alberta and started her degree all over again. she credits that risky school move to finding wes. i’d say it was worth it.
what an amazing start to the wedding season so far. i have never had any march weddings before in previous seasons and this year, i had two! kicking off the year with shandelle & britton’s wedding last weekend, laura & kyle’s wedding continued the march line-up on saturday, march 26, 2011, with their chilliwack wedding. i feel so very blessed after days like laura & kyle’s. my assistant teryn & i started the day with a long, beautiful, sunny drive out to chilliwack full of mountain views. i love the country. the wide, open spaces.
i bought a book called the war of art, by steven pressfield because i read on donald miller’s blog that he loved it. i love donald miller and i assume i’ll love what he loves. donald calls it one of his favourite books on writing ever written: i have to agree. but it’s so much more than writing. it’s a book about life. i read it in a day this past week and i haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since.
jadon is the brother of my dear, dear friend jenessa. i love this whole family a ton… and my beautiful friend jazzy [jasper!] is about to join them. jazzy & jadon are a wonderful couple: such a heart for the Lord, hard-working in all they do. they both attend the same church as i in langley and when i heard the rumblings of engagement [behind the scenes of course… remember, i’m close with jenessa!] i knew i wanted to photograph them. these two have been dating for over two years now and are making it forever on july 17, 2011.
