when kristen & i were in ireland, we rented p.s. i love you and watched it together late at night in our apartment, while we slurped ghetto soup [made from onions, frozen vegetables and water. kristen made it taste wonderful. she’s amazing.] — i adore that movie and there’s this one scene that grabs my heart. always always. if you haven’t seen the movie, this is when holly & jerry [later to become husband and wife] first meet on a quiet road in ireland. holly’s on a college trip, jerry is a native irishman. she’s lost, he sees her, they start talking.

it’s always awesome when my friends get married. two people that i love, they met, they fell in love over the last five years, they grew together in relationship & on saturday, they stood in front of all their family and committed their lives to one another. foreverrrr. beautiful. i wrote a little bit of maclean & erin’s story in their engagement session i photographed a few months ago. and may 21, 2011 was their wedding day! erin is not only my friend, but my neighbour & i had a thirty second commute in the morning to shoot her getting ready images. erin is too much fun to photograph: not only is she stunningly gorgeous but the best part is, i don’t think she knows exactly how gorgeous. she’s constantly making funny/awkward faces and is not the least bit pretentious about her beauty.

after four days in london, two days in edinburgh, one day in st. andrews, two days in belfast, it was time to move onto our final stop of our whirlwind united kingdom tour… dublin. we got off our two-hour train from belfast and took a taxi to our hostel right in the city. we checked in, grabbed our apartment keys [we were so excited about having our own kitchen to cook!] and headed a few blocks down to the instructed door.

helen and keith are effortless together. when certain points of the wedding timeline were running a few minutes behind, they were still all smiles. no stress, no worry, both her and him completely happy to be finally marrying their best friend. that’s how it should be. this cute couple went to high school together, first meeting in a grade nine computer class. it wasn’t until two years later that their friendship became closer and a whole lot deeper than their previous “hello’s” in the hallway.
