Our Love Story
natalie and jamie were married on august 20, 2011 at brock house restaurant, a gorgeous venue set beside the ocean and a stunning view of the vancouver mountains. when i first corresponded with natalie and jamie–a referral from their good friends laura & darren [who were both in the wedding party!]–i heard they had two things they wanted for their wedding: brock house and jamie delaine. i originally had their date booked and last minute before signing on the dotted line, the other couple dropped out: it was fate–on august 20th i’d be at natalie + jamie’s wedding. i couldn’t want to email natalie and tell her and we were all so glad it worked out!
jennifer & remo are an awesome couple. i first met them a few months ago when they came to my fort langley studio [which i no longer have! sad! but wonderful, because i’m in the process of renovating a home office] for our initial consultation. they found my work through the wonderful weddingsinBC magazine who had recently featured some of my photography. after hearing that these two met online two years ago and now run a fashion blog together–i knew they’d be my type of clients. just cool people. you have to check out jennifer’s blog: prairie girl in the city. i absolutely love following it.
ashley walked in to a friend’s house party one evening with some friends. as she wandered about the perimeter of the room, her eyes quickly noticed a guy that was very much in the center of the same room. ;) he had energy galore, you could tell he loved a good party… and he was currently shouting into a megaphone. his name was jon & he was italian: ashley took note of their shared heritage. after a few conversations, there was a connection: they started dating that year. ashley’s maid of honour in her reception speech remarked that after first meeting jon [and hearing ashley was interested] she needed to drive around the block a couple of times to calm herself down. hahaha. but soon enough, ashley’s friends saw jon for the gem he was: one of the most thoughtful, caring men you could be around. [i can certain attest to that. ashley + jon were such a joy to work with.] every guest in attendance this past saturday agreed: ashley and jon are a perfect match. after nine years, they set the relationship in stone and made it for forever.
jenny and andrew were married this past saturday, august 6th, at the super unique museum of vancouver. the day was started bright and early with jenny + the girls starting makeup at five in the morning. yes, five in the morning. melanie from mink makeup art did a fabulous job — as you’ll see from the photos below! me and my team showed up at seven thirty to start coverage and continued until ten o’ clock that evening. yep, fourteen + a half hour day. if you have to shoot a fourteen hour wedding day… believe me, you want to spend it with a couple as sweet as jenny and andrew.
