I'm a wedding and portrait photographer living in Vancouver, BC with my husband Randy. I photographed my first wedding when I was only 17 years old - and I've photographed over 200 weddings since! I am an avid bookworm, lover of green tea, pretty nail polish & my Labradoodle Harley. Thanks for visiting!

Our Love Story
it’s a really good morning. it’s a little chilly [i would need a cardigan and not just the t-shirt i’m wearing to go outside] and the sky is jammed with gray clouds. i was up early, six forty-five. i am getting back into the habit of setting my alarm. naturally, my body rarely sleeps in past eight. because wedding season is pretty rough on my body and mind–i usually let myself sleep to whenever i want in the summers. although waking up naturally is pretty wonderful: it is still a slower start to the day. by waking up at six forty five i know that i can be downstairs and back upstairs with green tea + oatmeal to spend some time in prayer and reading by seven on the dot. i like knowing that i will be at my desk ready to work at eight thirty sharp. productivity makes me feel good about things.
my favourite kind of clients are those that love the things i love. couples that love art, great design, eclectic style, quirky music + want to have weddings that are entirely about them–and not simply “what we think a wedding should look like.” alison & ryan designed possibly my favourite wedding i have ever attended last year on august 21, 2010 on the sunshine coast. you can see part one and part two of their wedding in my blog archives. it was featured all over the place including weddingsinBC magazine and my favourite wedding blog: ruffled. a few weeks after their august wedding, i received an email from alison saying they wanted to book me right now for a one-year anniversary shoot. i was pumped.
pretty interesting phenomenon happened at the tail end of this wedding season… three weddings in a row at brock house restaurant! no idea how that happened but laura & iain’s september 4th wedding brought my “weddings shot at brock house” total to five, making it my most-photographed venue. i ain’t complaining! fabulous food, great views, plenty of nice heaters for when the tent gets chilly… not that we needed those on sunday! just saying, it’s a nice feature.
nearing the conclusion of an exhausting summer wedding season, it’s extra important to only work with couples you absolutely adore… and i adore howard & olivia. i loved every minute of howard & olivia’s wedding day on september 3, 2011 at brock house restaurant. olivia has been living in shanghai since she graduated high school in vancouver years ago. howard is originally from san diego but has been at oxford university for the past year studying in a pastoral leadership program. thankfully olivia & howard have a beautiful friend named holly who acted as the main wedding planner and point of contact here in vancouver with all of their wedding vendors.
