i’m not really a “details” person. my brain tends to discard useless information like that-hotel-i-stayed-in-that-one-timeor the starbucks-in-which-i-drank-my-first-cup-of-coffee. irrelevant. [and my first cup of coffee was actually tim hortons. typical canadian.] i often have trouble remembering when my friendships started… it doesn’t really matter much to me. i mean, really: i know them, i love them, they are in my life now. i don’t remember how we got there! [i guess this unfortunate fact is the reason i write and journal so much.]

my love of running started at sixteen & our love has grown now for over five years’ time, increasing in intensity with every season. our love has been firmly established, there has been no doubts or questions. but i have fallen in love all over again: as if running & i have found ourselves on a second honeymoon. day after day after day, i lace up my running shoes, grab my iphone, pick an album on rdio, start up runkeeper and hit the road. because i run six days a week, i don’t go for long: usually between two and a half and four miles. enough time to clear my head, breathe some fresh air, remind my body that it is young and alive and capable.

it was at rosalynde’s house that their story began. she was having a party, friends were invited, friends of friends were welcome to come. enter dave. dave was there with a mutual friend of rosalynde’s — but their official introduction didn’t come until they were standing in rosalynde’s laundry room — waiting for dave’s shoes to dry. yep, that’s right. not long into the party, dave stumbled into a small pool of water in rosalynde’s backyard. he needed a place to dry off and turns out the daughter of the homeowners was pretty cute. ;)
