Our Love Story
[quote from henri nouwen.]
“the writing itself reveals what is alive.
it opens up new spaces within us;
of which we were not aware of before we started to write.”
isn’t that beautiful?
this is why i write.
nine thirty at night. a quiet evening in arizona, our home away from home. my cold feet suddenly command my attention to the little flame in our wood-burning fireplace, only to watch it fade to black. winters in the desert. mmm. tonight has been one of good eating & fellowship with dear friend melissa — finished off with tea & popcorn on our cozy couch.
five years ago, carrie underwood’s “jesus take the wheel” went crazy on the country music charts. i guess it’s a good song, if you like country music. a nice concept, a woman letting go of everything else in her life, giving up and declaring, “jesus take the wheel, take it from my hands. because i can’t do this on my own, i’m letting go.”
ah! finally! finally my home office is “finished enough” to show it off. after moving into our house in june, we’ve been hard at work renovating this small spare room. we ripped up the carpet, painted the walls, installed new baseboards & added an outside door. it’s about half the size of my fort langley office– but still feels very “me” & i love working here at home, regardless of the size. hope you like it! ;)
