jaclyn and matthew. these two are cute and casual and young and fun. low maintenance, easy going, full of laughter and the easiest people in the world to talk to. don’t let their age fool you: they’ve been dating for almost six years. they met at a summer camp when jaclyn was fifteen years old. matthew was intrigued by her but for some reason his friends warned against dating her. he didn’t get it, at all. until jaclyn’s birthday came and he asked, how old are you? fifteen. hahah. then he understood the warnings — matthew was almost eighteen himself — but they decided to start their journey together regardless of age. i say it’s worked out pretty well.

alice & frank’s story started twenty-one years ago: when they first met in high school, dated for a while and went their separate ways. after a couple decades of independent adventures, they reconnected in april. they knew this was serious business : “we were dating to get married.” by november, they were engaged & are currently planning a june wedding! so excited to be a part of their wedding day. alice and frank, thank you both for putting up with the crazy, cold windy “first day of spring” we had! ;) see you in a few months.

it was january of 2008 and a brand new semester of hillsong international leadership college in sydney, australia. two canadian students named carly & theo met on the first day they moved into the same apartment building, through a casual conversation on the balcony. a few nights later, a small group hung out for dinner and games and these two “officially” met and started a friendship. they didn’t started dating right away, even though theo said he would have been ready to. ;) one: there was a no-dating rule the first year of college and two: the timing wasn’t right. a year and a half after meeting, these two friends started dating and have been together ever since.

when we moved into a different house this past summer, i was excited about the chance to start fresh with a new bedroom. we had lived in our previous house for fifteen years. i had a mondo-bedroom. we built and designed the house with my bedroom as “two in one” — framed to easily have a wall added for re-sale. we never added the wall, so consequently, i had a bedroom twice the size [if not more than that] of my bedroom now. it was the biggest challenge to go from tons of space & two big closets to… this. check out the sweet before photo of my bedroom in june. no furniture. nothing on the walls. ugly beige paint colour. orange flooring. lovely box in the corner.
