Our Love Story
Alfred and Susan met at their Vancouver high school almost twenty years ago. They dated as teenagers but later went their separate ways when Susan went to Hong Kong to continue her studies. A few years after her move, they reconnected and started a long distance relationship between Hong Kong and Vancouver. Until five years ago when Alfred moved and started a business in Macau (an hour ferry ride from Hong Kong) – they’ve now been traveling between the two cities! Alfred asked Susan to be his wife a few years ago, however, in Susan’s words, they kinda slacked on the wedding planning until early this year.
Carmen and Trevor met while studying at UBC, however, Trevor doesn’t remember first meeting Carmen. And Carmen remembers meeting Trevor “just… over… there,” maybe near the sideway. Didn’t seem like a convincing story. But after both graduating from the Accounting program some three years ago, Carmen and Trevor started working at the same firm. They ended up moving onto different jobs at the same time but it was through work at the office Carmen and Trevor got to know each other – and started dating.
I was thrilled to receive an email from Cristi this past summer inquiring about family portraits. Cristi and Chris were married last July, on a Monday afternoon at Brix Restaurant, followed by a reception at the wicked cool V Lounge Restaurant. I loved every detail of their day. Cristi is a crafter and a DIY girl to the max (she has an amazing etsy store called TippyKnits) and her wedding definitely showed off her skills.
Alyssa and Seiji have known each other for almost ten years, since their Grade 11 year in high school. Seiji was in cadets, Alyssa was a cheerleader, mutual friends in both circles led to these two becoming acquaintances and then quite close friends. However, for all those years, they remained “just friends.” They dated other people off and on… and Alyssa remembers always having an interest in Seiji. But without reciprocation, what was the point? They were just friends. A couple of years ago – something switched in Seiji and he started seeing Alyssa in a new light. They’ve been together since!
