Our Love Story
October is my favourite month of the whole year – and this year, it was my busiest month of the whole year! However – I knew I needed to take some time, any time I could get, to experience some “Fall” things! Aldor Acres is a great family farm only about a 20 minutes drive from my house (and less than 10 minutes from the adorable Fort Langley.) They have a Pumpkin Patch and activities all throughout this month, as well as a Christmas tree farm later in the year. On Saturday, I was shooting Carissa & Jon’s wedding, but it was in Langley and coverage didn’t start until the afternoon. Soooo, 2:30PM start time and a 10-minute work day commute? Means a Saturday morning to hang out with an amazing group of friends.
Carissa and Jon met years and years ago as their families attended the same church growing up. Their is a small age gap between the two of them and that gap only feels bigger when you’re a little kid. Soon, the age difference meant nothing and groups of friends started to hang out together. Carissa writes they started dating in April 2010, when she was eighteen years old, after a few years of “complicated” friendship.
Hannah and Josh have one of the most unique “first meeting” stories I have come across. As we walked and talked this past Monday morning along the Vedder River in Chiliwack, BC, Hannah explained how it was simply a “miracle” looking back. Hannah and Josh are both quiet and neither are the type to approach someone new – despite potential interest – so, fate stepped in and placed them right in front of one another. Two Septembers ago, Josh was hired to do a small drywalling job at Hannah’s mom house. Conveniently, Hannah was back home in BC after finishing up her four-year Bachelors degree in Ontario. Hannah saw Josh walk in the first time, noticed him immediately, but was shy and left the house pretty quickly.
Nicole and Patrick were married last Saturday, October 12, 2013 in an afternoon ceremony at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Vancouver. The couple was supported by four friends on either side – four bridesmaids and three groomsmen, one groomslady. ;) Nicole prepared for her wedding day in a suite at the Vancouver Shangri-La Hotel where the dinner reception was scheduled to take place later in the day. Shortly after arriving to the church, a gift from Patrick to Nicole was delivered to the basement downstairs. You shoulda seen the look on her face when she discovered a Louis Vuitton purse. Pretty excited. It was cute.
