I'm a wedding and portrait photographer living in Vancouver, BC with my husband Randy. I photographed my first wedding when I was only 17 years old - and I've photographed over 200 weddings since! Our Love Story
On Tiffany and Ryan’s first date just over a year ago, they went to a Canucks hockey game and sushi for dinner in Yaletown afterwards. When dinner was through, Ryan drove Tiffany home in his truck but they weren’t ready to say goodbye quite yet. They sat in the truck talking until well after 3am – Tiffany remembers, “Our date lasted 12 hours! And it was awesome.” Only three months later, Ryan proposed to Tiffany with a gorgeous engagement ring. He knew what he wanted and he wanted Tiffany as his wife!
Andrea and Gordon have two gorgeous kids, Emily and Brendan! When Andrea and I saw each other across the parking lot in Steveston, we hugged and she said, “I feel like I know you better than I really do!” (Or something to that effect.) I feel the exact same way. I think we had met, maybe twice, definitely once, through one of my best friends in high school. They are close family friends and Andrea and her family are some of those people I “see around” on Facebook a lot. I was thrilled when she emailed me about my November family portrait sessions.
If you’re reading this thinking, “I thought she said was in Haiti!“ I am but thanks to the wonders of technology, I can keep blog posts publishing continually throughout the week until we are home. A couple weekends ago, I had the pleasure of photographing two family sessions in one day! We have had thee most beautiful November weather this year. Usually November is an ugly month, the month most Vancouverites are thinking about booking a last minute vacation to get away from the rain! It’s so beautiful to wake up every morning to crisp air, the rising sun. I love the cold air!
Oh, I’m so pumped on these photos! Julie is a fellow photographer, one of my most consistent second shooters and has become a good friend. Two summers ago, she emailed volunteering to be an assistant for free – only to watch me work and fetch me whatever my second shooter and I might need. Her husband Sean, is brother to Danny and Brittany, so had that connection already. I said, “Sure!” From day one, I was impressed by Julie. For three days one summer, she worked long, long weddings alongside my second shooter. For no pay. That was also the summer Brittany and Danny got married and I photographed her as a bridesmaid and Sean as a groomsmen.
