I'm a wedding and portrait photographer living in Vancouver, BC with my husband Randy. I photographed my first wedding when I was only 17 years old - and I've photographed over 200 weddings since! Our Love Story
Hello everyone! Happy Monday!
Thanks so much for clicking onto my blog this week. I wanted to leave a little note to let you know we’re in Haiti for the next week and updates on social media and this blog will be sparse.
It has been so encouraging to launch The School Sessions last week and see the response! In just 11 days of being LIVE, we have over 160 photographers signed up! We estimate we need 600 photographers to reach our goal… so we have a way to go! But we are dedicated and motivated to reach it and we have been blown away by the photographers who have jumped on board and shared The School Sessions on instagram, facebook, twitter, emails, messages, thank you, thank you!
January 12th is the 5th anniversary of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that destroyed much of Port au Prince, Haiti and surrounding areas. Hundreds of thousands of lives were lost, hundreds of thousands more were injured. The country was filled with fear of another quake, sleeping in tent cities far away from what little was left of buildings and homes. Thousands of schools were also destroyed or damaged on January 12th, five years ago, leaving many kids (the few fortunate enough to attend a school) without a building to call their own.
It’s Friday! (I have noticed a trend when I start to write blog posts… I seem to LOVE announcing what day it is, like all of you have been anxiously awaiting my blogs to find out what day of the week it is. I mean, really, when I don’t blog on a Tuesday or Thursday, how do you survive? Somehow it feels like a fun place to start. A declaration of HERE WE ARE! FRIDAY! I’ll try to change, I promise.)
