I met Christie for the first time when we were both attending university in 2008 and we’ve been friends ever since! She was a bridesmaid in our wedding a few years ago and the year before that, I photographed her wedding to Dan. Earlier this year, they made the move from Langley to Kelowna. We happened to be in Kelowna for a weekend in June with friends and it was nice to see Christie & Dan again. The two couples we went with, both of the wives were pregnant, then there was Randy and I and Christie and Dan. Christie asked me, ‘Does being around so many of your pregnant friends make you want to be pregnant?’ I said ‘Nope! Not right now! Haha!’ I knew Christie and Dan were looking to start a family soon-ish… and when Christie texted me a couple months later to say, ‘We’re pregnant!’ turns out she already knew she was when she asked me that question. There were four couples there for dinner and three of them were pregnant, not just the two. ;)

Krista and David are expecting!photography, portraits | May 5, 2015
I was so excited when Krista and David sent me a message about photographing their maternity photos in support of The School Sessions! Krista mentioned both her and David knew my husband Randy from way back, when he was a teenager and their two church youth groups used to do things together every so often. I loved the opportunity to meet up with them in Crescent Beach to capture this amazing time in their lives. Krista and David have been married for almost five years and are due with a little baby in less than three month’s time!
Jessica and Scott are expecting!photography | December 9, 2014
I love repeat clients… these dear people, Jessica and Scott, hired me four years ago as their engagement photographer and wedding photographer, and last week, I was honoured to be their maternity photographer. They are expecting a baby in February and I’m going to be their newborn photographer, too!
Mikaela & Shane: Expecting!photography, portraits | July 7, 2014
I had the pleasure of first meeting Mikaela (if I remember correctly?) at a photographer’s get-together at my previous studio space in 2011. She was one of the local industry “online friends” I invited to critique as I rehearsed my two hour talk for an upcoming photography conference. Since then, we’ve met a couple times in groups and along the way, starting meeting for coffee and/or work dates ourselves between Langley (my home) and Abbotsford (her home!)
